Concrete Leveling to Correct Drainage in Bradford, Ontario
Sunken concrete created a slope that caused water intrusion at a business. Groundworks corrected the drainage through concrete leveling.

The Challenge
The exterior slab on grade had settled closer to the door, creating a negative slope that caused rainwater to travel down the slope and enter through the facility doors.
The Solution
Groundworks performed polyurethane injection concrete leveling to restore proper grade and drainage.
The Impact
The slab was lifted, restoring the direction of the drainage back towards the drain.
The Challenge
Uneven slab settlement caused water to accumulate inside a business.
At a floor coatings company in Bradford, Ontario, settlement of concrete created a serious problem for the business: the exterior slab on grade had settled closer to the door, creating a negative slope. To the dismay of both the business owner and the employees, this caused rainwater to travel down the slope and enter through the facility doors. This problem increased the likelihood of water damage to the floors, slips and injuries, and even litigation from the aforementioned potential injuries. The business needed a solution that would end the movement of the water through the door and level the slabs back towards the drain.

The Solution
Polyurethane injection concrete leveling.
To restore proper drainage for the company, Groundworks was contacted for their non-invasive polyurethane injection concrete leveling service. The team drilled penny sized holes in the concrete slabs through which polyurethane was injected in its liquid form. As the polyurethane expanded, it traveled into voids and weak soils, creating a firm base beneath the slab while generating a controlled, uniform lift. Technicians monitored the process closely to ensure that the slabs were raised gradually, restoring both the slope and grade needed for effective water flow towards the drain.
The Impact
Slabs lifted and proper drainage restored in a single day.
In a single day, Groundworks was able to restore the slab. This ensured proper drainage to the area by directing the slope back towards the drain. By correcting the settlement, water was redirected away from the structure, stopping moisture from pooling against the foundation. The repair also prevented further water intrusion into the building, mitigating water damage inside the building, slips and injuries, and liabilities. For the property owner, this meant not only a safer environment for employees and visitors but also protection from costly repairs and potential legal exposure in the future.
